At Huntington Primary Academy internet safety is interwoven throughout the computing curriculum. We use the National Centre for Computing Excellence’s Teach Computing curriculum throughout the school. This progressive curriculum has e-safety running through its core and is taught both discreetly and overtly. Additionally, our school building blocks feature the SMART rules which are referred to at the beginning of each lesson.

As part of the national Internet Safety Day, we run an annual e-safety week. During this week we run special assemblies and lessons across the school focused on online safety. This event uses age appropriate activities such as: stories, creating presentations and open discussion to equip pupils with the knowledge and skills to stay safe online and also what to do, and who to speak to, if they encounter anything on the internet that causes them worry or alarm.
